Power in archaeological research

The traces of power: viewed from archaeology and anthropology

Some schools of architecture, at least, have tackled the study of past societies in their evolutionary dynamics. In this context, certain authors have approached the study of power, its nature and characteristics.
This lecture will summarise the way in which power has been dealt with by archaeologists, while bearing in mind the fact that there research has always been organised from the standpoint of the present.
