Surfactants: from bubbles to liquid crystals (the importance of nanostructure)

Surfactants are molecules that are adsorbed into surfaces and alter properties. Owing to their structure they contain areas with different affinities for solvents, and these differences cause nanostructures to be formed. These nanostructures may have differentiated characteristics and can be used in different fields, from cleaning to the transmission of medicines and the preparation of nanoparticles.
