Lineage, work and exoticism in the definition of power in Iberian Chalcolithic society

The traces of power: viewed from archaeology and anthropology

Social complexity is one of the most widely-debated problems in the context of Iberian societies from recent prehistory, and particularly in the case of those from the Age of Copper and the early Bronze Age. This lecture will discuss the definition and nature of power in Iberian Chalcolithic society, based on new discoveries and scientific studies being carried out on the settlement of Valencina de la Concepción (Seville).
